The difference:

·        Gravity—Force that pulls us down (N)

·         G—universal constant (just a number) 

          g—acceleration due to gravity (m/s²)

 Because of Newton's 2nd Law: F=ma and therefore w=mg (weight=mass * acceleration due to gravity)

**remember we do everything in SI system....newtons, kilograms and m/2 ^2)
